CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Jazz
This class will build on fundamental jazz techniques including pirouettes, jumps, stylized footwork, and progressions across the floor.
Ballet
A highly technical class that combines precision and grace. Organized steps and gestures in intricate patterns throughout class help to build strength and flexibility in order to execute challenging technical steps.
PointE
Pointe is part of the classical ballet technique that incorporates pointe shoes. Dancers will work to strengthen and articulate their footwork while balancing grace and fluidity.
Hip HOP
Usually accompanied by popular music, this stylized high energy class will focus on isolations, musicality, coordination, and strength.
Contemporary
This class will dive into intricate movement, floor work, and creative tasks. A style of dance that combines several dance genres to create new movement.
MODERN
This class will teach the foundational movements that are necessary for all styles of dance. Student will learn to develop contractions, release technique, spirals, head-tail connection, concept of space, weight sharing and floor work.
Yoga
Classes will incorporate traditional asanas(yoga poses) initiated through breath. Classes are designed to balance the mind, stretch the body, and strengthen your well-being.
Movement & Improvisation
Designed to teach young artists the love of movement and expression. These classes will focus on the use of creativity through exercises using their imagination and exploration.
ACRO/STRENGTHENING
Centered around basic acrobatic techniques. This class will focus on flexibility, strength, balance, self-discipline and confidence.
TAP
Tap dance is characterized by using the sounds of metal taps attached to each end of the shoes, striking the ground to create percussion. This class will focus on unique sounds and rhythms.
Summer intensives
These workshop style classes offer extensive training and focus on technique, improvisation, and various styles of choreography.
